Almoradí help those threatened with eviction

I have read this article from Mas Amigos, T Colling/Paul Mutter:

The current economic crisis and high unemployment have put enormous pressure on many families and their income and as a result, their ability to pay loans and rents of properties in those living in deteriorated dramatically. Banks and financial institutions have not been very sympathetic to their clients' needs, for example when it comes to offering alternatives to them. It has led to the protest groups organized, as in Torrevieja, and they have been successful in getting at least a temporary stay of execution, and review, eviction decisions. With unemployment forecast to continue at very high levels, the risk of further eviction decisions to be great for many families.

Almoradí has decided to adopt a more proactive approach to the problems by setting up a committee consisting of members of the local political parties, local charities and a member of the local group "Stop the evictions". The announcement of the initiative was made by the Mayor for Social Affairs, Trinidad Rodriguez, who said the group would consist of eight members, three community members from the PP, one of the PSOE and the IU, a member of Caritas, another from the Red Cross and a member from the local action group.

The Committee has already been successful with its mediation and successfully repeal the eviction. Rodriguez stressed that this could not have happened without the consent and support from both financial institutions and courts. It receives many requests for help at the moment and the purpose of the Committee is to assist and advise on possible options and to help find ways through the bureaucracy.
