SPAIN CLAIM 80 MILLION EUROS FOR CUCUMBER FIASCO
The minister for the environment announced that Spain will be claming 80 million euros in compensation from the EU as a measure of the lossed incurred by Spanish growers following the incorrect diagnosis that the spanish cucumbers(pepinos) were the cause for the e-coli outbreak originating in Germany. Subssequent more stringent tests carried out confirms that the fenugreek seeds from Egypt were the culprit and the EU have banned all imports of Egyptian seeds and beans.

ALMORADI FIESTAS GETTING CLOSER
Cannot wait for the Fiestas in Almoradi! I think they are one of the best in the Vega Baja. To get a good view you wil need to book a table in one the many bars along the route. I believe and just been informed today that you can book a table outside several Spanish bars and you do not have to have any food if don´t want to, and just have drinks, which is brilliant as some places force you to have food. We will probably book a table outside Comyc a small quaint Spanish bar.

The Comyc bar is situated just off the main square, on one corner there is the cam bank and the other a jewellers, go straight down about 20 metres to the left and there it is. The front is orange and the chairs are also orange so you really cannot miss it. May see you there.
As the fiestas are almost upon us does anyone know if the bars and restaurants normally offer any special deals? There seems to be many bars in Almoradi and it must be very difficult with all the competition.

MEAL AT GIOVANNI´S RESTAURANT
We had a lovey meal last night at Giovanni´s restaurant in Almoradi. The food was nice and the atmosphere and company was good as well. The restaurant was very busy which is good to see and it seems that the summer season has really kicked in. Would definately recommend it for a nice ocassion and the price is reasonable as well.

Did anyone watch the race yesterday? How good was Alonso and Ferrari. Its nice to see someone put pressure on Red Bull and Vettel who is running away with it. Hamilton is also too far behind him to catch up and there is only going to be one winner again this year. I cannot get my head around why the other teams do not have a car that can match the Red Bulls!!!!!! Please add your comments!
I personally think its getting boring now, there seems to be no challengers to Vettel and all the cars are supposed to be the same! I know the drivers are different but not too the extent of the time gaps between each other. I hope they reintroduce the fuel stops again not just the tyre changes and need to see more competition. Not even Webber was allowed to pressure Vettel as they could have lost points, so far ahead it would not have made any difference.BOORRRRIIINNNGG
ALMORADI SQUARE
The square seems to be taking ages to complete! Does anyone know for sure when it will be completed and will it be ready for the parades at the end of this month?
yip it definatley will be the head of the project is one of our regulars who assures us the square itself will be ready for the fiestas but it will be the end of sept before the bar . fountain and newspaper kiosk is completed
