moving to almoradi
Hi, I am thinking of moving to Almoradi or albatra (not sure if spelt correctly), which is the larger town and has more ex-pats living there. I want to move to a Spanish village but would like to know there are few english people there, and kids in school. I have been thinking about moving to Spain for years and we are going to take the plunge at the end of this year. My partner will be working in England and coming to Spain most weeks...... I would love to hear from anyone that lives in either of these towns. Karen
HI, thanks....
Im just worried that when I put my children in school there wont be any english kids to help at first. I dont speak a word of Spanish at the moment. X
Where to watch live football
My husband is an avid football fan and is wondering if anyone can suggest where to watch Man Utd v Chelsea on Sunday. Preferably in Almoradi but is prepared to travel if he has to.
Hi js,
Just joined as a new member and had to respond to your request about where your husband can watch Man United against Chelsea on Sunday.
I am only aware of one place in Almoradi that will be showing this which is a place called Bar Elite. If you are willing to drive then then there are numerous sports bars in Benimar or Quesada. We tend to go to the Breeze bar in benimar as it has a great atmosphere. The choice is yours!!!!

Saturday Market Cultural Route
Saturday 7 May 2011, 10.30am from the tourist information office in Almoradi is the next cultural route walk. If you would like to attend just turn up on the day and join in. The spanish guide speaks English and it is good way of learning the history and culture of the towm.

Man Utd v Schalke Champions league semi-final
DonĀ“t forget you football lovers out there. A huge game tomorrow night at 20.45 live on ITV 1. It appears a formality for Man Utd, but they need to be careful as the way they played on Sunday anything can happen, nevertheless as a United supporter I have faith in their ability and should be too strong for Schalke. Please add your views on the outcome!!!
Hi Karen,
Nice to see you are moving to Spain in the very near future. My partner and I have lived in Almoradi for over 7 years and we love it here. Its a Spanish town with approx 18,000 inhabitants and in my opinion 95% of these are Spanish. There are expats but not overrun and there are some good schools for infants, primary and secondary aged children as we have both Spanish and British friends with children at school and we have only heard good reports, however you need to do some research for yourself to ensure you are happy with the facts.
Albatera is also a nice place, which also has expats but is a lot smaller than Almoradi, but with lots of Spanish nationals. Albetera is further inland than Almoradi and is obviously further to the beaches/coast.
The decision is yours and if you require any other info feel free to ask.
